Therefore, we will take you to Quillarumyoc first, which is an archaeological site approximately 50km from Cusco, where ancient cultures used to worship the moon. This still quite unknown site has a huge rock with a semi-circular cut in its centre, which is representing the shape of a rising moon and was dedicated to the Goddess of the moon – it is therefore the only place in the country, where temples were constructed to worship the sacred feminine. Additionally, you can also observe the agricultural terraces typical for the region and enjoy an incredible view of the Andes at this truly mystical place. The second stop of the day is Izcuchaca, a sleepy, picturesque village in the valley, which is not visited by tourists frequently. You will have the chance to wander around the streets of the city, getting a first impression of the daily life of the farmers in the Andean highlands. Along the way to your hotel, we will pass by beautiful Waypo Lake, always accompanied by the snow-capped mountains. Tonight you will have the choice of staying at the beautiful autentic viallge of Maras with an expectacular view of the snow coped mountains or you can also continue to the Sacred valley to stay at one of the recomended hotels.
